Live Review
Just under ten stops for their Spring Tour; NOTHING MORE hits the town of Evansville Indiana for the night with supporting acts Thousand Below and Crown the Empire. Just about 1,500 in attendance; the Victory Theatre started to fill up with concert goers ready for the high energy show to start. NOTHING MORE announced this tour back in January not long after the release of their newest album ‘SPIRTS’.
Right at 7:15 Thousand Below took the stage getting the crowd engaged with their song ‘Hell finds you everywhere’ featured as the title of their Third studio album that was released back in December of 2022. The crowd seemed to wake up and move their bodies as the band played some of their well know hits like ‘Venenosa’ and ‘Silent Season’. Getting the crowd to jump and be a part of the experience came easy because it seemed the fans came ready to rock. Ending their set with one of their most notable songs from their first studio album ‘Sinking Me’ the crowd went wild and stayed amped for the next band.

The Texas band Crown the Empire takes the stage just after 8pm starting their set off with their newest single ‘DOGMA’ [watch music video here]. Andy Leo (lead vocals) takes a breath to talk about how they have been an emo band for 10+ years now and he is considered an elder emo. Andy says, “and anyone nearing 30 is also an elder”. First time in Evansville for the band but not an ounce of energy is wasted by the band or crowd. Andy has managed to break three mics and he said he will break more to just keep singing. Playing hits like ‘BLURRY (out of place)’ and ‘What I Am’ the energy in the venue is high on what feels like nostalgia for the emo anthems. Crown the Empire continues to hype up the crowd mentioning how grateful they are to be a part of this tour with the homies (NOTHING MORE). Andy being his energetic self doesn’t miss a beat to mosh on stage and get the crowd moving; even though it is a seated theatre. Playing some crown favorites like ‘What I am’ and ‘Machines’ the energy just kept growing throughout the venue. The band has the album ‘DOGMA’ set to release the 28th of this month {preorder here}
Munk (Bass guitar) at one point of their last song mentions “this is usually the part i tell everyone to fucking mosh, but you guys can’t because you are in seats. So instead, I need you guys to fucking head bang.”

Right after 9pm Jonny Hawkins (lead vocals) runs to the front of the stage with his torso painted black and red in theme with their newest album ‘SPIRITS’ available now {buy here}. On their new album, NOTHING MORE documents the tumultuous time the world experienced over the past two years capturing the desperation and isolation of lockdown, the spiral of substance abuse, the pain of broken relationships, and survival in self-reliance. The energy grew large with excitement as the band played hits like ‘Jenny’, ‘Go to War’ and ‘Face it’. The audience made sure they sang every lyric with the band as the night grew later. You can catch NOTHING MORE on tour for this album until May 27th. Mark Vollelunga (guitarist) took a moment to shout out their next song ‘Fade-in/Fadeout’ as its about becoming a father in honor of his wife giving birth to their son. Overall, the night was filled with high energy from the crowd and band. NOTHING MORE is worth seeing if you can catch them on this tour.
