Show Review

Following the announcement of their third studio album; You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, Knocked Loose are back on UK soil for their biggest headline shows in the country to date. Having just dropped their latest single Blinding Faith, eager fans queued around the block in Birmingham in anticipation of its UK debut.

Joining the quintet all the way from San Francisco, were experimental trailblazers Deafheaven. A striking contrast in comparison to the evening’s headliners which was made more evident by the still - yet captivated crowd. Their thirty-minute offering was comprised of dreamy instrumental-heavy numbers all orchestrated by frontman George Clark who won over the sold-out crowd.

After a brief intermission, the stage was all prepped and ready to be decimated by hardcore legends, Knocked Loose. Opening their set with Deep in the Willow closely followed by mammoth hit, Where Light Divides the Holler the band wasted no time going full throttle into their hard-hitting performance. Within seconds, bodies flew across a sea of people making their way across the barrier in true hardcore fashion - making it one hell of a shift for venue security. God Knows saw the return of George Clark to the stage who once again delivered a spellbinding vocal performance with Knocked Loose’s very own Bryan Garris. The setlist was perfectly curated and spanned the band’s extensive career thus far.

It will come as no surprise that the show’s main highlight was during Counting Worms where pure hysteria was unleashed into the sweat-soaked room upon the appearance of Bryan’s signature bark. Simply put, Knocked Loose are masters of their craft who will undoubtedly outdo themselves as the years go by. You simply have to catch this band and be part of history.
