Live Review

Fans of Dayseeker took up quite a bit of room at their sold out show in Indianapolis on September 5th. You could just tell what a beautiful community they are by being in their presence. The energy was on point, with lots of visible excitement for the night’s performances.

First up, opening the evening was Moxy The Band. Amber, the lead vocalist, has such a powerful, and almost sultry voice. Their music is very much chill, and almost has a nostalgic feel to it. Amber took time to speak to the audience about her epilepsy diagnosis, and how much it had impacted her and her music career- but look at her go (of course work the help of her band members). Opening for Dayseeker! Every song in their set was *chef’s kiss*. The instrumentals alone could easily put you in a relaxed trance, and the crowd absolutely loved them and welcomed them with lots of love. You should run right now and listen to Pawns. Trust.

Next up was Silent Planet. The atmosphere quickly changed up to some more intense energy. These guys are a force. I don’t even think they were two songs into their set, when people were already trying to crowd surf. Garrett, the band’s vocalist, has quite the set of lungs on him and nailed every single song. He spoke of his battle with mental illness very openly, and it was a very real and raw moment. If you have taken the time to really

listen to them, and know their lyrics, they’re truly captivating artists. They performed their three newest releases- Collider, Antimatter, and Signal, along with more from past albums. 7/5 stars fo sho.

Last but certainly not least, Dayseeker arrived on stage, and instantly got down to business as usual. The crowd was there for it, too. The second song they performed (Dreamstate), they had a special guest join them- Garrett from Silent Planet! He and Rory (lead vocalist from Dayseeker) performed flawlessly and seamlessly together. Their latest album, Dark Sun, is extremely raw and filled with emotion. Rory lost his father to cancer, and he poured his heart into writing these lyrics. You can tell by listening to them that it was an act of grief, healing, and love all poured together. It just makes them all the more relatable. A little further down the set, and Amber (Moxy The Band) hops on stage to perform Without Me alongside them. Again, they flowed nicely together. Dayseeker is easily one of the best post- hardcore bands out there, intense, yet filled with so much emotion and many different sounds. Their performance was absolute perfection, and a perfect ending to the night.
