Crashface Interview

So today we saw CRASHFACE’s debut 2000 Trees performance, how did you guys find it?

Otto: “Uh, it was really f**king cool. Literally the gates had just opened, you could see people running to come and see us. Man like, I was expecting to play to the sound guy and the fact that the tent was actually pretty busy was surreal we had a pit going. It was good man”

Charlie: “Yeah, it’s so good to be back here. Honestly this is like our favourite festival collectively so to actually get to open the day, you know not being able to clash with anyone just have people kicking off and enjoying it. Yeah it was great man and obviously the set up, Marshall doing all the amps and everything and like sound was amazing. Just happy to be here man”

Otto: “Big up Jack the Ripper on monitors, he was awesome”

So you guys not really clashing with anyone was certainly a blessing for you guys?

Charlie: “Big time. For people that wanted to get up that was! I think with the sun beaming through your tent was like..”

Otto: “Was it?”

Charlie: “For me, yeah it was horrible”

Otto: “I love camping here”

The band has had a couple of busy months to say the least. From supporting the likes of James & The Cold Gun, Stand Atlantic and Kenny Hoopla to say the least, what’s next for CRASHFACE?

Charlie: “Next up we’ve got a few more shows to see out the summer. So we’re doing a few more with Kenny Hoopla urm and then we’ve got a couple day fests going into Autumn. But at the moment, we’re all about writing, we’re getting as many tracks down as we can and we’re having fun with it. We’re trying out new s**t”

Otto: “Nothing really sounds kind of like anything else we’ve done before which is really cool. We’re so hyped on the new stuff, none of it’s been off to be mixed so we just keep evolving them”

Charlie: “We’re just having fun writing, obviously all we’ve wanted to do since the inception of this is play shows and we’re ticking that off pretty well this summer and I feel really good about it. So yeah, we’re just having fun with the writing process and seeing what we can create”

For anyone new to the band, where should fans look to, to keep up with your new releases?

Otto: “Instagram is definitely the number one or sign up to our mailing list, the crashlist”

Charlie: “If you go to crashface.online - instant sign up link there. You’ll get updates first but at the moment you know we’re taking it steady, pretty on it with all the social media stuff. So crashface, crashface UK across platforms, check us out and come to a show”

Your set was done nice and early today. Who are you hoping to catch across the weekend?

Charlie: “There are too many friends”

Otto: “This entire festival is just a mates festival. Speaking of which there’s Jen. Yeah lots of friends playing, it’s really cool just hanging out”

Charlie: “Me personally, today Jimmy Eat World, I’m just gonna cry my eyes out. Are Dinosaur Pile Up today?”

Otto: “I have no idea”

Charlie: “I think DPU are today and then Turnstile and Knocked Loose for sure”

Otto: “I’m so hyped for Boston Manor. I love that band”

Charlie: “And Vukovi as well!”

Otto: “Vukovi, yeah”

Charlie: “Literally everyone. The entire line up is just ridiculous, every year they smash it and yeah it’s a privilege to be a part of it”

Do you have a random quote or any words of wisdom to end today with?

Otto: “Come to 2000 Trees next year, buy a ticket just do it. It’s the best festival going, everyone is so bloody nice. Come to one of our shows, see if you like us. Support our music in general”

Charlie: “Be yourself and listen to Crashface”
