Live Review
It's the final night of You Me At Six's Truth Decay tour celebrating the release of their eighth studio album, released just one day prior to the show. The run of shows concluded at London’s iconic 10,000 capacity venue, Alexandra Palace with a more than impressive lineup.
First to take to the stage were London based indie rockers Bears In Trees, who self-describe themselves as the centre of a venn diagram with Slipknot and the Spongebob Square Pants theme tune. With a few loyal fans at the front ferociously singing along, their music easily puts a smile on people's faces. All in all, their punchy opening set successfully warmed up the crowd and kicked the night off to a very positive start.
Setlist:

I’m Doing Push Ups
Cut Corners on Short Walks
Heaven Sent is a Coffee Cup
Fresh Concrete
Ibuprofen
Next up, US favourites The Maine showed up, who certainly knew how to work a crowd. Lead vocalist John O’Callaghan called upon attendees to sing along if they knew the words and even louder if they didn’t during hit song “Am I Pretty?”. A surprise visit from Charlotte Sands was in store as she joined the band on stage to perform their collaborative track “Loved You A Little”. The band certainly made the most of their set. Their final song “Black Butterflies & Deja Vu” was performed alongside a super fan who was invited on stage to close the set with them.

Waterparks were the final support of the evening, who walked on stage and received a huge roar of applause. The three-piece rock band opened with “Blonde” and unleashed insane levels of energy. Lead vocalist Awsten Knight frequently commented in awe of the size of the room and the amount of people watching their set. “Lucky People” toned the set down briefly which saw the room filled with phone lights and the crowd on each other’s shoulders. Closing their set with their chaotic new single “Real Super Dark”, the band gave it one final ounce of oomph. Based on this one performance alone, it would not be surprising to see Waterparks headlining venues of this calibre in the near future.

Moments before You Me At Six took to the stage, the anticipation built in the air. Taking to the stage one by one, the band exploded into “Deep Cuts”, the debut single from Truth Decay which proved to be the perfect energetic opener. Their impressive 21 song setlist perfectly encapsulated their almost fifteen year old discography. Nostalgia was provided in the form of performances of “Liquid Confidence” and the timeless classic, “Stay With Me”. However, the real show-stopping moment was when Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds joined the band onstage for the live debut of their collaboration track “No Future? Yeah Right”. Toward the end of the set, the band slowed things down to perform raw numbers “Take On The World” and “No One Does It Better”, shortly after frontman Josh Franceschi reflects back on the band’s history. Whilst it’s not the band’s first time headlining Alexandra Palace, but their sheer gratitude to their fans is evident from start to finish. With an intense encore to end the night, You Me At Six prove they are not slowing down as the Truth Decay era has only just begun.
