Live Review
To celebrate the bands 10-year anniversary, The Vamps embarked on their eleven-date sold out tour, playing to arenas across the UK - concluding at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena.
Joining them for the celebrations was all-female alternative quartet from Utah, The Aces. Making their long-awaited return to the UK, the band opened with their recent release ‘Girls Make Me Wanna Die’ and instantly grabbed the attention of the already full arena. Performing a mere five song setlist, the band didn’t have long to win the crowd over. This however, proved to be no problem at all for lead vocalist Cristal Ramirez and co. Highlights of the set included punchy anthem ‘My Phone Is Trying To Kill Me’ and the electric infused 2020 hit single, ‘Daydream’ which got the audience onto their feet in seconds.

Following on from The Aces’ stellar performance, a black curtain is draped in front of the stage ahead of The Vamps’ headline set. A countdown hyped up the female filled arena, with the timely fall of the black curtain revealing The Vamps in all their glory.
The Vamps: Connor Ball, Tristan Evans, James McVey and lead vocalist and fellow Brummie, Brad Simpson kicked off proceedings by launching into 2013 single ‘Last Night’ which was closely followed by lighthearted album track, ‘Girls on TV’. A giant runway spans over half of the arena and Simpson wastes no time paying his die-hard fans in the VIP standing pits a visit. The setlist from the evening perfectly encapsulates the very best of The Vamps, from early hits such as ‘Oh Cecilia’ and ‘Wild Heart’ to the more recent ‘Married in Vegas’ all being performed from their jam packed discography. All in all, it’s clear to see that The Vamps are on top form and continue to excel both on, and off stage. As the band say their farewells in Birmingham, the roar of applause from their adoring fans confirms that the show rounded off their time on the road in style.
