Live Review

It’s the final show of Rolo Tomassi's European run, ending the tour at London's Electric Ballroom for their biggest headline show to date. With London being the band's only UK show on this run, it was no surprise to see the room had filled with eager and excited fans minutes after doors opened.

Heriot have been making a huge impact in the UK metal scene and gaining a lot of recognition - tonight's performance demonstrated why. From the first note, they immediately grabbed the attention of attendees inside the iconic London venue, with all eyes firmly on the stage. Even with a few minor technical difficulties, the band were able to easily brush it off and carry on unfazed. Brand new release “Demure” was brutal and hard hitting, but transcended to a live environment beautifully. Heriot have more than proved themselves as a band who have found their niche, yet consistently raise the bar and excel expectations every time.

Whilst the slightly slower tempo of Holy Fawn may not have had the crowd moving as intensely as Heriot, everyone seemed engaged and fully immersed in their music from the second they take to the stage. Opening with their 2020 track “Candy” from their first EP The Black Moon, the band make a solid first impression. So far, the band have not made many trips oversees to the UK, but have still managed to bag themselves some fans who could be spotted sporadically amongst the stalls.

Opening with “Almost Always”, Rolo Tomassi created a euphoric atmosphere within a room filled to the brim with excited fans. Vocalist Eva’s vocal talents were truly highlighted in the first number, as were her movements as she graced the stage in perfect sync with the music. This sentiment could be applied to the whole band, who were sleek and efficient and still had a lot of fun in the process! As their biggest headline show to date, the evening was a momentous occasion for both band and fans alike.
