Live Review
Enter Shikari kicked off the second leg of their residency tour in style, again playing to sold out intimate venues across the UK - including HERE at Outernet in London. A month prior the band played the very same room, which no doubt fans in who attended were back and ready for another dose of the St Albans legends. Masses of energy lingered in the air prior to the first act; Cody Frost, taking to the stage.
Having recently featured on Shikari’s hit single ‘Bull’, Cody Frost should be a name the room was already very familiar with. Opening with their track ‘verbal warnings’, the signer-songwriter immediately made the stage their own, as they confidently made use of the space. Towards the end of their set, they briefly mentioned how their career started by uploading Enter Shikari covers on YouTube as a teen. It was evident just how much working with their favourite band meant to them, which was met by a round of applause from the sold out crowd. Cody Frost is guaranteed to go on and dominate the alternative music scene, with their intense and bold performance cementing that statement.

Main support was provided by High Wycombe based five-piece, As Everything Unfolds who have built a solid reputation in the scene following their breakthrough debut album, Within Each Lies The Other. Opening with the title track of their upcoming sophomore album, ‘Ultraviolet’, proved the perfect introductory track for those not yet acquainted with the band. Merch could be spotted amongst the crowd, which made it clear that the band had a good amount of fans in attendance. Also taking a moment to thank Enter Shikari, lead vocalist Charlie Rolfe explained how they may not have been a band without their music. It was certainly a tour that was just as special to the artists, as much as it was for the fans. Having recently been nominated for Best Breakthrough Live Artist at this year’s Heavy Music Awards, it’s no surprise after their solid set that blew all expectations out of the water.

Also fellow nominees at the Heavy Music Awards, headliners Enter Shikari took to the stage and launched straight into recent single ‘It Hurts’ promptly followed by fan favourite, ‘Juggernauts’. Accompanied with bright colours, strobe lighting and bursts of confetti, their eighteen song setlist encapsulates the very best of their career thus far. Shikari are known for their immense production which adds to the fan experience. This sentiment can also be applied to the band’s non-stop fierce energy which mirrored that of the crowd for the entire set. Towards the end of the set, Cody Frost rejoined the stage to sing ‘Bull’, much to the room’s delight. Over the years the band have built a strong bond with their dedicated fans, with their immerse live shows being at the very core. Those who attend a Enter Shikari show do so more than just to attend a show. The band have taken pride in offering a safe environment for all to lose themselves in a state of euphoria -
with many fans returning for more and more.
