Live Review

As Cassyette’s UK tour was coming to an end, one last show at Camden’s iconic Electric Ballroom was set to be a scorcher. With a sea of fans queuing outside the venue, hours prior to doors - it’s safe to say that London was more than ready for the alt-rock rising star.

Once doors opened, it didn’t take the venue long to fill as Calva Louise took to the stage and kicked off proceedings. Whilst UK based, the three-pieced rockers each originate from different parts of Europe, as mentioned on stage by lead vocalist and guitarist Jess Allanic. Their melodic sound created an ethereal atmosphere within the room, grabbing the attention of the crowd and certainly making their mark on the stage.

Setlist:

  1. Euphoric

  2. Belicoso

  3. Feast is Over

  4. Oportunista

  5. Over the Threshold

  6. Third Class Citizen

Up next was Lozeak, who had more than a handful of fans singing along in the front row. Opening with her track ‘No Saving You’, her set was crammed with energy fuelled anthems including a well received cover of Paloma Faith’s power ballad and recent social media hit, ‘Only Love’. Her onstage presence, paired with angsty lyrics radiated early 2000’s vibes which certainly was a hit for the sold-out crowd.

Setlist:

  1. No Saving You

  2. Alter Ego

  3. Die Right Now

  4. Drag Me To Hell

  5. Used To You

  6. XO

  7. Only Love

  8. You Should Be Mine

  9. Hate Me Too

  10. Word Vomit

Excitement lingered in the air in the moments leading up to Cassyette’s headline set. Bursting onto the stage before the lights were even up, Cassyette launched into opening number ‘Like That’ which saw the entire floor jump off of their feet. With the crowd firmly in her palm, it’s concrete evidence on why she has been recently nominated for a Best Breakthrough Live Artist at this year’s forthcoming Heavy Music Awards, alongside a nomination for Best Breakthrough Album for ‘Sad Girl Mixtape’. Tracks from said album formed majority of the tour’s setlist, with ‘Mayhem’ and ‘Sad Girl Summer’ being real stand out moments. It didn’t take long for the alt-princess to get amongst the action as she frequently lept to and from the stage. The connection with her fans was evident throughout the entirety of the show, something the singer is well known for. Having played Download Festival and opened for My Chemical Romance last summer, Cassyette is continually on that upwards trajectory, with even bigger things yet to come. Closing the show were deep cuts and fan favourites, ‘Dear Goth’ and ‘Prison Purse’’ - accompanied by a victorious crowd surf which rounded off the singer’s biggest headline show to date, in style.
